Published 11/29/2017 >
Question:
I am looking to install electric brakes on my 2012 Carson Flatbed trailer. I am interested in the Dexter brakes, item #23-468-469. I was looking at Hub/Drum assembly item #84546UC3-EZ which fits a #84 spindles my question is: how do I determine which spindle my trailer has? Thank you

Helpful Expert Reply:
To determine your spindle size, you can either pull one hub off your trailer and look at the bearing numbers on the face of the inner and the outer bearing, or you can measure the spindle itself.
I've attached an article and a photo to assist. If you measure the spindle, you will want to use a digital caliper like # PTW80157 because the precise measurement in the locations where the bearings sit and where the seal sits will determine the correct spindle size.
Once you have the spindle measurements or bearing sizes, we can confirm a hub/drum assembly for your trailer.
