I got a receiver hitch fo my 97 JeepTJ. Do I have to remove the bumper to install the hitch.

The trailer hitches we offer for a 1997 Jeep Wrangler like the Draw Tite # 75193 do not require you to remove the rear bumper. Basically the hitch just gets raised into position and bolted in place. I attached an install video for more info on this.

From what I have found, there are four bolts holding the fuel tank in place at the back of your 2001 Jeep TJ. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver #13408 covers these bolts once it is installed, so it would have to be uninstalled in order to access them…
