Question:

I was wondering what kind of above bed gooseneck you recommend for a 2006 3500 chevy - it already has 5th wheel rails installed.

As long as you have industry standard, above-bed fifth wheel base rails installed on your Chevy 3500, I recommend looking at the Curt Spyder Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # 16085. This will mount directly to the rails on your truck to provide a gooseneck hitch with a 25,000 pound towing weight capacity and 6,250 pound vertical load limit. It features a 2-5/16 inch trailer hitch ball and includes safety chain attachments.
