Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer. Today we're gonna take a look at this Dee Zee 106-Gallon Brite-Tread Aluminum Auxiliary Tank. Now this tank here can be used as either a transfer tank or an auxiliary fuel tank. And when used as a fuel tank, what happens is regular stops to refuel could prolong your workday or extend your drive time on road trips with your fifth-wheel trailer, so with this tank, you can go ahead, skip that next exit with confidence. Now, we do offer a Dee Zee's connector kit, which is sold separately, which allow you to move fuel directly from this transfer tank to your fuel tank.
Right down here at the very bottom corner here, you'll see there's a connector that'll connect with that connector kit that we sell separately. And the connector kit is custom fit, so there are a couple different kits out there. You do want to choose the correct kit to fit your application. Basically, once you attach that, that connector kit will feed diesel directly into your OEM fuel line. Now, you do always want to check local regulations and vehicle warranty before altering your OEM fuel system.
This will include the transfer tank vented cap right here. You can just zoom in a little bit. This vented cap is for venting on either the left side or the right side; they have two different openings you can screw this into. And basically you just unscrew the cap, fill it up, put it on there, tighten it back down, and it is vented. It does also include two of these threaded plugs.
There's already one installed in this opening here and this is the one that came out here. So you can put this vent on either side, whichever you prefer. This tank is compatible with center-mounted transfer pumps. Larger pumps might require bracing. Now, they do use full-size and fully welded baffles on the inside to give you extra strength.
And this auxiliary tank does meet the federal DOT and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration requirements for tanks to perform as an auxiliary fuel system. Now, this tank is tested and certified to hold diesel fuel for refueling equipment at the job site or for transferring directly to your truck's fuel tank during longer commutes. These tanks are constructed of a non-rusting .125 Brite-Tread aluminum, has the radius curve design on the corners here to eliminate key weld pressure points, and it is hydrostatically pressure tested up to 29 PSI to ensure that it meets the highest level of quality. Now on the very bottom corners, there's two back here, one right up here and on the other corner, and then two back here on each corner. There are mounting tabs to secure the tank to your truck bed. Now, the mounting hardware right here is included and it also comes with some rubber cushions, so when you do install this, it'll put the binding bolts through the cushions to keep this from bouncing around. Now, a few dimensions on this: the overall length one end to the other is 48 inches long, 24 inches wide, and 24 inches tall. As we mentioned, the volume is 106 gallons. This part is made in the USA. Now, if you do have any other questions regarding this part or any other item we carry, please feel free to reach out to us so we can help get all of your questions answered for you. But that's gonna do it for a look at the Dee Zee 106-Gallon Brite-Tread Aluminum Auxiliary Tank.
Looks good and works great
Great for what it is
pretty easy install, all parts were packaged, spacers for the tangs should have been about 3/16 taller, I made a shim pretty easily, so no problem. Very happy with the purchase.
So far so good, ready to mount it in the back of the pickup and put lines right to the fuel tank fill hose
I pull a 42-foot fifth wheel with a ram 3500 diesel. I purchased this tank to extend my range before I need to fuel up again. With this extra 40 gallon capacity I can usually get to a campsite and then unhook and find cheaper diesel away from the interstate. I installed a inline fuel pump with a switch on the dash so when I get down to a quarter of a tank I flip the switch and keep on rolling. A great product from etrailer, well-built and serves my purpose.
