Question:
Hi, I've been looking into a lot o your ball mounts recently and I was wondering if there was a reason why some had longer stocks than others. specifically from the hitch pin hole to the butt of the stock. Is there a reason for the varying lengths or is the length just arbitrary?

The reason some ball mounts have different lengths is simply to allow for more clearance between the tow vehicle and trailer. Some people like a longer ball mount if, for example, they want to be able to open the tailgate of their truck when the trailer is attached. Something like the Curt # C45270, which is 13" long may allow that while Curt # C45010, which is 8-1/4" long, may not. I've added a link to each of our ball mounts for you to take a look at.
