Can a Reese Weight Distribution Shank be Used with a Curt Weight Distribution Head
Updated 06/07/2011 | Published 06/03/2011 >
Question:
How close are the specs for using reese shanks with curt trunnion tow equipment? Or does it really matter?

Expert Reply:
In terms of compatibility, it depends on which components of a weight distribution system you are referring to. For example, Curt spring bars will not fit in a Reese head nor will Reese bars fit in a Curt head. But, if you are talking about the shank, a Curt or Reese head will fit each others shank. The holes on a Reese shank, # RP3344, are spaced the same as those on a Curt shank; 1-1/4 inches on center.
