Will Trailer or Hitch Height Need to be Adjusted when Using a Cushioned Pin Box

Question:
With the scissor action of this king pin hitch, would you need to adjust your standard minimum 6inch bed side rail to trailer clearances? My tow vehicle is 2 016 Ram 2500 64inch bed 4x4. Trailer is 2017 Cedar Creek 34re, 37foot in length. Right now I run my fifth wheel hitch at its tallest setting.

The cushioning components of Trailair Air Ride 5th Wheel Pin Box - Lippert 1116 - 21,000 lbs Item # LC155943 won't move enough for you to have to change any height settings. But if you wanted to you could mount the new pin box one spot lower on the pin box wings will which provide a little more height.
Basically, once the pin box is installed and the air bag inflated to the proper amount, you should have 5 or 6 inches between the 5th wheel overhang and the tops of the bed sides. The clearance is mostly a concern during low speed operations on uneven ground.
