Question:
I just installed the Draw rite 76128 2” hitch on my 2017 Honda CR-V AWD. I’m looking for hitch balls now. Is there a standard for this vehicle. It would be mostly for towing small machinery such as log splitter and such. Just wondering which ball unit to buy that has the proper it rise for the vehicle.

Since Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 76128 is a Class III hitch with a 2 inch receiver you can use pretty much any ball mount that will fit. But to choose one that has the right rise or drop to tow a trailer level there are just 2 measurements needed. Once that is figured out you can select a ball mount and then a compatible ball.
You will need to have the vehicle and trailer on level surfaces to measure. Use the trailer's jack to make sure the trailer is level before measuring. Measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler. Then on the 2017 Honda CR-V you will measure from the ground to the top of the receiver opening.
If the coupler is higher then the difference between the 2 measurements is the amount of rise you will need. If the hitch on the CR-V is higher the difference is the amount of drop you will need. I have linked a help article that shows how to measure for you.
Another option is to use an adjustable ball mount such as # TK5007. This ball mount has a maximum rise of 8 inches and max drop of 10 inches and is adjustable in 2 inch increments. It takes a ball with a 1 inch diameter shank such as # 19260 for a 1-7/8 inch ball, # 63845 for a 2 inch ball, or # C40007 for a 2-5/16 inch ball.
