Question:
an answer said to line the holes in the hitch and the bike rack up and thread the locking pin in, well the pin slides all the way into the head of the bolt and it wont catch on anything to thread it in are their supposed to be threads in the bike rack? i put the locking pin in and i can get it to catch to thread it in???

Yes, the Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Platform Rack # S64683 has the threaded locking hitch pin which is supposed to reduce the rattle in the hitch receiver.
I recommend trying to install the threaded hitch pin without installing the bike rack into your hitch receiver first. If there are no threads in the shank of the bike rack then the bike rack is defective and needs to be replace. Since it has a limited lifetime warranty you should have no problems getting it replaced. If it does thread in then you might not have been inserting the shank of the bike rack into the hitch receiver deep enough to where the pin holes lined up.
