Friend gave me Equalizer 4 point 1000 hitch. Can I use it to use as WD and Sway for my 178 Rpod?

The Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control - 4,000 lbs GTW, 400 lbs TW # EQ37040ET is the size you want for your 178 Rpod trailer. The 1000 lb system will cause problems for that small a trailer because it will be too rigid.
I recommend getting the replacement parts to make the most of your free system and give you what will actually help you. You will want the Replacement Head for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems - 400 lbs TW # EQ90-02-0400 and Replacement Spring Bars for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems - Qty 2 - 400 lbs TW # EQ90-01-0499.
