Determining the Weight Capacity of Trailer Tires

Question:
Im looking at trailer tires. Is the weight given per axel or total weight?I have a tandem trailer, boat weights 4,000 lbs

The weight capacity listed for a trailer tire is the capacity of just that tire. So for example the Karrier ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range E # AM10303 has a maximum load capacity of 2,830 lbs at 80 psi. If you had four of those tires on your tandem axle boat trailer, the tires would carry a total weight capacity of 2,830 lbs each for a combined tire weight capacity of 11,320 lbs. Keep in mind that the weight capacity of the tires will not supersede the weight capacity of your trailer.
