When you’re hauling serious weight, you need a wheel that’s up for it. This 16" x 6" steel rim is rated at 4,400 lbs and meets Department of Transportation standards, so you can count on dependable strength mile after mile. Getting the right fit shouldn’t be complicated. This wheel uses the common 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern with a pilot diameter of 4.90" and 0 offset for proper alignment. It accepts standard trailer wheel lug nuts in 1/2"-20 or 9/16"-18 thread size, making it an easy match for most heavy-duty setups without extra guesswork.

1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Dexstar 16 inch by six inch Black Modular Steel Trailer Wheel with the eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern. Now this wheel is a sturdy steel construction. It is the modular design, so it is the one that has the round holes that go all the way around the wheel. It offers excellent corrosion resistance.
They use a black powder coat finish over an e-coat primer. And it is a high quality wheel. It does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation specifications. Now if you notice, the wheel does not come with a center cap. If you do want a center cap, we do sell those separately.
You do wanna make sure to get a center cap that will have the same diameter as this pilot hole because your center cap will go through this hole. The diameter on the pilot hole is 4.9 inches. This part is made in the USA. Few dimensions on this wheel. The diameter, which will be measured inside the inside, we take our tape measure.
And if we go inside the inside, there's your 15 inch, or I'm sorry, 16 inch diameter. And the width on it is the same way, we'll be measuring inside the inside or bead seat to bead seat. And there's your six inch width. Now this wheel does have a bolt pattern of eight on six and a half inches. And if you want to measure that, it's pretty easy on a wheel that's an even number of lugs, and that's because the wheel lug holes are directly across from each other.
So if you go to measure it, what you'll do is pick any hole. Let's say this one. Measure from the center of this hole directly across to the center of the hole right across from it. On this wheel, it'll measure six and a half inches. So it's an eight lug, six and a half inch bolt pattern. This does use a wheel lug size of either a half inch by 20 or nine 16ths by 18. And the weight capacity on the wheel is 4,400 pounds. But that should do it for the review on the Dexstar 16 inch by six inch Black Modular Steel Trailer Wheel with the eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern.

The weight rating stamped on the outside of the wheel would be better than a sticker that will peel off. The quality of the metal we get these days is terrible.. but, that’s the nature of things these days.

I am hoping before they lef You guys, they were minus all the paint chips and scratches. Whoever's doing your packing for these heavy a**. Rims needs to be fired. If I knew this was what free shipping got me, I would have paid for shipping and had it packed Where they would not be damaged.

Ordered 4 rims. First set didn’t get shipped even though I got an email saying so. Second set that was a reshipment showed up quick. One Rim had 2 cuts around the inside edge, nothing that affects durability so I hit them with a grinder and painted over them.

This review was delayed until the wheel trueness was check and was balanced . Tire was purchased at local tire shop. The wheel and tire only use 1oz to balance and will be use as a second spare. Yes I recommend ETrailer great Products!!
Great product and service. The website gave detailed information I was looking for about the wheel’s max capacity and was very helpful clarifying the difference between the cheaper wheels sold on amazon. It’s only a $20 difference for a better than stock replacement on a heavy duty trailer. Great customer service, fast shipping with order status updates and the wheel came packaged safely. This wheel has a 4400lbs rating and was what I needed. It does have a nice gloss black finish. The price was a little higher then other wheels but the quality is there.

I have had this wheel in operation for a year or so now and zero problems great product worth the price.
obviously a high quality wheel with a higher weight rating than any other cheaper wheels i found online. noticeably heavier, excellent fit and finish . more expensive yes, but well worth it. My daddy always said, good tires are cheap insurance. i will now add to it, tires and wheels.
