Expert Reply:
Both the Curt # C12100 Class II, 1-1/4 inch hitch receiver and the Curt # C13144 Class III, 2 inch hitch receiver use bolts that have a 1/2 inch diameter for the installation.
For a fish wire bolt leader you can either use the 18 inch Curt # C58400 or the 20-1/2 inch Tow Ready # 80101-1.
If you purchased your hitch receiver from us then there would have been some included with the hardware.
If you need new hardware for your Curt hitch receiver to install it on your 2017 Subaru Forester you can order it from our site with part # RHK. You will simply select the hitch manufacturer from the drop-down menu and then type in your hitch part number.
