In order to flat tow your 2017 Ford F-250 behind a motorhome, you will need the following items: Base Plate Kit, Tow Bar, Wiring Harness, Safety Cables, Supplemental Braking System, and Possible High-Low Adapter. I have attached my recommendation for each of the following items below.
For a base plate kit that will work well for your vehicle, I recommend using the Roadmaster EZ5 Base Plate Kit part # RM-524452-5 as this is Roadmaster's most advanced removable arm base plate kit. You will also need a towbar compatible with the EZ5 base plate kit and rated for your vehicle's weight capacity. I recommend using the Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar w/ LED Lights part # RM-676 as it includes both safety cables and LED lights.
A great wiring harness to use with your vehicle is the Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles part # RM-152-98146-7 as this wiring harness has a 7 to 6-wire umbilical cord that will attach your motorhome to the towed vehicle. For a supplemental braking system, I recommend using the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System part # SM99251 in addition to the required Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles part # RM-88400.
If the center of the base plate kit is not within 3" from the top of your hitch receiver on your motorhome, you will want to use a high-low adapter which I will include a list of for you. I have also attached several supporting video reviews and installation procedures for your review.
