Why does the Curt C#11407 hitch require stabilizing strap on non-trailer loads. I plan to use it for a 2 bike rack. Thank you

Curt requires the Support Strap # 18050 with a number of their hitch receivers like # C11407. The strap isn't required when towing a trailer but only when carrying something like a bike rack or cargo carrier. It's required in order to be compliant with the hitch's warranty because Curt wants the added support when the complete weight of the accessory is on the hitch. The strap is required for you to carry a bike rack on your vehicle.

The Draw-Tite Hitch Receiver # 24931 does not require the strap and will also fit your 2016 Infiniti Q50.
