Powered Trailer Hitch Cover Problems For Newer Vehicles

Question:
I would really like to get one of these but Ive heard from other people that have bought one that it fools the truck into thinking you have a trailer attached and warning light come on repeatedly? Is there a way around that? I have a 2015 Ford F150.

I do have an option that will allow you to use the Ford LED Lighted Trailer Hitch Cover part # CR-007F on your 2015 Ford F-150 without the trailer error message.
The only way to avoid the error messages while using the lighted hitch cover on a 2015 and up Ford truck would involve hardwiring a 4-way connector such as the Hopkins Endurance 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector Socket part # HM48030 to a powered circuit on the vehicle that is different from the powered circuit used to power the trailer lights. For example, you would need to run the power wire of the 4-way to the headlights on the vehicle.
As this may be more work than you had first thought, I suggest the Ford - Chrome Trailer Hitch Receiver Cover part # CR-211 instead.
