Recommended Weight Distribution System to Replace Valley WD Rated for 10,000 lbs

Hi, I have a Valley 70230 round bar 10,000 lb wd hitch. While camping this weekend someone stole my shank, hitch head and ball. They left me with the bars and mounts on the trailer. Do you have a compatible shank and head or do I need to purchase a whole setup? Thanks,

So sorry to hear about your stolen equipment. I do have a solution for you but since Valley went out of business we do not have any parts for it and since weight distribution parts are not interchangeable between brands (aside from some shanks) there are no options that are compatible with your bars.
For a replacement WD system you will want to make sure that you Total Tongue Weight (TTW) fall in the middle of the weight range of your new system. Your TTW can be found by adding the the Tongue Weight (TW) of your fully loaded and ready-to-go trailer as well as any cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle.
Since your previous WD system was rated to pull up to a 10,000 lb trailer I can make a recommendation based off of that but you will want to make sure that it is compatible with your TTW. The Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System w Sway Control # RP66084 would be an excellent choice as a replacement as it is rated for up to a 12,000 lb trailer and has a TW range of 600-1,200 lbs. The great thing about the Strait-Line is that it has integrated sway control that actually fights sway before it starts instead of correcting it after it starts like most other systems do.
This system doesn't come with a hitch ball but you can use either a 2 inch hitch ball, part # A-90, or a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball, part # 19286.
To help prevent your equipment from being stolen in the future I recommend using the Master Lock Hitch Receiver and Coupler Latch Lock Set # 2848DAT. This will lock your shank to your trailer hitch receiver on your tow vehicle and will also lock your coupler to your hitch ball provided that the latch on your coupler has a small hole for the coupler latch lock.
