I have a 2014 f150 crew cab with a 5.5 foot box, will this kit work with my truck? recommended?

For your 2014 Ford F-150 with a 5-1/2 foot bed, I recommend the Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP50081-58.

This kit is confirmed to fit your 5-1/2 foot bed and will give you industry standard base rails that will allow you to install and use the Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Slide Bar Jaw - 16,000 lbs # C16115.

For towing a 5th wheel with this bed size, it us required to use a Reese Sidewinder Pin Box for adequate clearance. I've attached a link to all our Sidewinder options. Keep in mind you'd also need a Wedge for your setup; for example, if you use this Curt E-Series fixed hitch with a sidewinder then you'd also need to use Wedge # C16991.

Finally, for a 5th wheel wiring harness you will need the Pollak 5th Wheel / Gooseneck T-Connector # PK11893-11932.

Yes, standard above-bed base rails from Curt are perfectly compatible with your Pro Series 5th Wheel Hitch. For your 2005 Ford F-150 the Curt Base Rail Kit # C16441-204 will work great.
