Does Exhaust Have to Be Removed to Install Hitch on 2016 Dodge Charger

Question:

Doing some research on a possible hitch for my 2016 dodge charger. The instructions show that the rear muffler is removed for installation. Is this required, or just needed to make installation easy? Can this hitch be installed without removing the mufflers? Thanks.

The exhaust of your 2016 Dodge Charger has to be lowered to install the Curt hitch part # C13093. This is a pretty standard install step for hitch installs as there isn't a way to get a hitch past the exhaust. If you check out the install video though you can see that it's not really that difficult to pull off.

All of the hitches for this vehicle require this step.
