If you are using either the Lippert Components Landing Gear Switch # LC145236 or the Stromberg Carlson Landing Gear Switch # LG-145236 you will connect the red wire without the fuse along with the longer black wire to the red and black wires on your motor.

The short black wire will be run to the battery's negative post and grounded and the pink or red wire with the fuse will be connected to the battery's positive post.

Is there a diagram for connecting a new switch to wires already in the RV? We accidentally unplugged the switch when checking it and don’t know which wire goes to which connection on the actual switch.

@ColtonS If you have one of the switches I mentioned above then you'll use the wiring diagram on his page, but if you have a different switch, it should have come with a diagram. What switch did you get? The nice thing is that once you connect power and ground the other 2 wires are just for the direction of the legs so you can just connect them and then see if the legs work like they should. If they work in reverse then all you have to do is reverse those wires and everything will work properly.

@JonG it’s similar but not sure. It looks original but last time I used the legs the motor kind of wound down till it stopped. Now the switch does nothing. We jumped the motor to the battery and motor is fine. Can’t find a blown fuse and somehow there isn’t one on any of the switch wires. Well when we were checking the switch the wires came off the back and we didn’t know which wire went to which connector on the switch. I finally found a photo but it still didn’t get the motor to work. I tested the switch with a meter but not sure if I did it correctly or if it’s more complicated with a 4 pin. It didn’t read any circuit. I ordered a new switch just in case.

@Colton Ah, I see - that makes sense. Hopefully the switch does the trick for you. The nice thing is that the switch is a pretty straightforward piece of wiring so you should be able to swap things around to really test everything out.
