Can Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter Coupler Point to Rear of Truck

Question:
Can I reverse the demco recon base on my flatbed. If I put the base on with cab arrow facing cab then I can’t tighten bolts. However it will sit flat if I turn base around.. The head will go on either way, wanted to know if this was safe.

The base of the Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # DM8550045 needs to have the ball coupler socket going towards the cab of the truck as is indicated by the sticker. This has to do with the geometry of the hitch and how it handles weight. If you were to reverse this and anything were to happen then it wouldn't be covered under warranty.
If you can give me some more insight into your situation I can try to help you troubleshoot why the base isn't sitting flat.
