How to Add 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector to 2023 Chevy Colorado
Updated 01/05/2026 | Published 09/12/2024 >
Question:
I watched the Hastings Chevy Colorado wiring harness video. My 2023 Colorado has an encased group of wires plugged into a dummy plastic fitting. What do I need to make it the 4 and 7 pin that I was used to in my Silverado?

Hello Robert; it sounds like you're referring to the standard dummy plug found on Chevy trucks like your 2023 Colorado. If you look at the installation video below you will see where the dummy plug was removed with the wiring harness attached. All you need to do is remove the wiring harness and plug it into the # HM40975.
