Distance from Bumper to First Bike When Swagman RV Bumper Bike Rack S80605 is Installed
Updated 05/10/2017 | Published 05/09/2017 >
Question:
Greetings I am seeking additional information on the Swagman RV Bumper 2 Bike Rack p/n: S80605. In the description, it states that the first bike sits 6 1/4inch out from bumper. Where is the dimension from and to? Is the dimension from the centerline of the outer mounting hole? Is that dimension to the inside edge of the slot for the bike wheel? Or is the dimension to the center of the slot. Also, how far does the rack extend beyond the mounting hole closest to the end RV side? There isnt a lot of room between the bumper and the RV exterior wall. Regards

Expert Reply:
The first dimension you mentioned of 6-1/4 inches will be the distance from the rear bumper where the Swagman RV bike rack part # S80605 attaches to the center of the first bike slot.
You'll want right at 2 inches of clearance between the bumper and the rear wall of the trailer to allow the U-bolt and rack to clear.
