I removed the screw but panel seems very tight. which way do I pull

Interior panels can fit pretty tight even when the hardware that secures them is removed. You will want to basically pull out and down to get the panel free but you have to be careful not to get too aggressive. The right side should be the easier side to start with.

I have cracked interior panels before from trying to just yank them out so you basically have to proceed with caution and just take it slow as you pry the edges of the panel out.

Yes, the 2017 model falls within the same generation so the process should be just about identical.

@Chris Those lights are the courtesy/footwell lights. They illuminate the driver’s footwell when the doors are opened.
