20 Amp Fuse Keeps Blowing on the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO

Question:
I have a 2015 Chevy Malibu and I etrailer.com installed the SMI Duo system for me. It is not blowing the main 20 amp fuse for the unit and in doing some trouble shooting I noticed that when I pull the breakaway switch it will blow the system. I cannot see any loose or pinched wires but I have not taken it apart to look yet. Any suggestions as to what may be causing this?

I called SMI to see if this was something they had heard of before and my contact said that your 20 amp fuse should not be blowing when you pull the breakaway switch on the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251.
What he said you can try to do is swap out the 20 amp fuse for a 25 or 30 amp fuse and check all of your grounds. He mentioned that anytime there is a problem with a fuse it is most likely the ground so that is a good place to start.
