When you’re covering long miles in heat or hauling heavy gear, this tire-and-wheel assembly is made to stay steady. The Karrier ST175/80R13 radial tire carries a 1,375-lb maximum load at 50 psi and meets DOT specifications with a speed rating of M (81 mph). Radial construction runs cooler and resists heat buildup, helping it hold traction and tread life on the road.
Corrosion won’t slow you down thanks to the 13" x 4-1/2" aluminum wheel’s rustproof design. The gunmetal gray finish with a clear coat on both sides protects against scuffs and scratches while keeping the wheel looking sharp season after season. It’s lightweight, durable, and built to handle the elements.
The aluminum wheel uses steel inserts in the lug nut wells to prevent wear and keep the wheel locked firmly on the hub. Those inserts stop the bolt holes from wallowing out over time, so you don’t have to keep retightening lug nuts after every trip. It’s a simple detail that makes a big difference in how solid everything feels behind you.
This Kenda Karrier special trailer radial combines double steel belts with full nylon plies for strength, long service life, and smooth tracking whether it’s wet or dry. The computer-generated tread pattern and premium rubber compound add grip and stability so your trailer tracks true with less bounce or sway.
No extra setup needed—the tire comes mounted on the wheel and aired up so it’s ready to bolt on right out of the box. That means less time messing around with mounting fees and more time rolling with a balanced setup built for reliable performance trip after trip.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a brief look together at this Kenda Carrier ST175/80R13 Load Range C Radial Trailer Tire with this 13 inch aluminum wheel with the five on four and a half inch bolt pattern. This tire and wheel assembly is gonna be great for your boat trailers, stock trailers, utility trailers, and campers. This special trailer tire, or ST tire, has sturdy sidewalls so that it can handle heavy loads. It is created specifically for trailers and not intended for use on other vehicles.
As you know, radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. And this radial tire is constructed with the double steel belts and full nylon plies that combine for superior function and long tire life. This computer-generated tread design and premium rubber compound materials are gonna give you superior traction in wet or dry conditions. So as I stated, and as we have stamped on our tire, this is an ST175/80R13. The section width of this tire is 6.8 inches, and the outer diameter is 24.1 inches.
This is a load range C tire, meaning it has a six ply rating. The maximum load is 1,375 pounds at 50 PSI. And this has a speed rating of M, indicating a maximum speed of 81 miles per hour. This gunmetal gray aluminum wheel is durable, lightweight, and rust proof. The open spoke design is unique and appealing, and the clear coat finish on the front and on the back is going to protect this wheel from scuffs and scratches.
This wheel does feature steel inserts in the lug nut wells. It's gonna help keep the wheel securely in place on your trailer hub, preventing the holes from wearing down and eliminating the need for constant retightening of the lug nuts. The dimensions of this wheel, looking at the diameter, measuring bead seat to bead seat is 13 inches in diameter. And the width is 14 and a half inches wide. Our bolt pattern is five on four and a half inches.
And in case you don't know, the first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes, and the second number is the diameter in inches of the circle on which the bolt holes sit. So to determine the bolt circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes as we have here, you're simply gonna measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. The wheel capacity is 1,740 pounds. The wheel stud size is a half an inch by 20. The center cap is sold separately, but if you decide to pick one up, you just wanna make sure that it fits the pilot diameter of 3.19 inches. This tire and wheel assembly does meet the Department of Transportation specifications. And I think that's gonna wrap up our brief look today. I do hope that our time together has been helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
