Question:

What is the length from frame to hitch tube on this hitch. I plan on removing the factory hitch and want a snug fit under bumper. Also, do you have a similar hitch in a 2 inch tube to fit snug under bumper?

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Class V # C15704 referenced in your question is confirmed to fit the 2006 Dodge Ram Pickup 2500-3500 Series without a factory trailer hitch. I recommend making sure that the factory hitch on your Ram can be removed, as on some Ram models, the hitch is permanently welded to a u-shaped support piece of steel. The Curt # C15704 will have a drop of 6.65 inches from where it mounts to the frame to the receiver tube. This will provide a nice, snug fit below the bumper beam on your Ram. This 2-1/2 inch receiver has a gross trailer weight capacity of 18,000 pounds and a tongue weight capacity of 2,700 pounds.

For a Class V trailer hitch that has a 2 inch receiver opening, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15409. This hitch is actually confirmed to fit your Dodge Ram both with and without the factory trailer hitch. The length from where it mounts to the frame to the receiver tube on this hitch is greater at 8.46 inches, but will still be a nice fit. This has a towing weight capacity of 17,000 pounds and a tongue weight capacity of 2,550 pounds.
