Recommended Trailer Hitch Replacement for 2010 Dodge Ram With Factory Hitch

Question:

2010 Dodge Ram 3500 SRW SLT with 8Ft. bed. My truck was recently involved in a rear end collision and the factory receiver hitch took the brunt of the impact. I will be requesting the factory hitch be replaced as I do not know if it has been compromised due to the impact. 1. What class 5 hitch would you recommend......I would like the new hitch to set just below the bumper as the factory hitch does.......Do they make anything that I could just take the factory hitch off and install the aftermarket hitch? Thank you

Sorry to hear about the collision but you are doing the smart thing by replacing the trailer hitch in your 2010 Dodge Ram 3500. We do have exactly the hitch you need as a replacement, the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT45509.

This is a Class V trailer hitch that is a replacement for your factory hitch; it has a 2-1/2 inch receiver with an 18,000 lb towing capacity and 2,000 lb tongue weight capacity.

If you take a look at the accompanying photos you can see that the Draw-Tite # DT45509 will sit just below the bumper like you wanted. I have added a link to the instructions of this hitch for you to check out as well so you can see exactly how it will need to be installed.
