Question:
what is the torque specification
asked by: Mike
Expert Reply:
Hitch torque specs vary between hitch models so you will want to identify which hitch you have. Both 1-1/4-inch Class I and 2-inch Class III hitches are offered for your 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek and you can see all items on the linked page.
On each hitch page we link the installation instructions which include a listing of tools needed as well as the torque specs for all included fasteners.
If you are re-installing a hitch you will need to obtain new hardware since hitch hardware cannot be re-used. We offer hardware kit # RHK and you can simply enter your hitch brand and part number into the fields on the page for that part to order the correct hardware kit. For example, if you have Curt 2-inch hitch # C13135 you will enter that part and brand on the RHK page for a complete kit with the correct fasteners.
A helpful article on hitch installation is linked for you.
