There are specific fits for a 2010 Mazda 3 for the hatchback vs. the sedan. If you have a sedan, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11393. If you have a hatchback, I recommend the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # 24843.
If you will be using this hitch for light towing, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118420 if you DO NOT have LED lights, and if you DO have LED lights I recommend the 4 Pole Harness and Hardwire Kit - Includes Tester # C59496.
For a ball mount, I recommend the Sportframe Drawbar 4" Rise 2000 lb Kit # 3594. for the Draw tite hitch, or the C45521 for the Curt hitch. Then you will need a hitch ball like # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch ball or # 19258 for a 2 inch ball.
If you will be using a bike rack or cargo carrier, and you get the Curt hitch, you will also need the stabilization strap like # 18050.
