Question:
2014 ram 2500 diesel. I have the factory brake control in my truck but am having issues with it. No matter what setting I put it on the most voltage I see is 7 volts. I haul campers for a living and unfortunately even though a lot of complaints from people are being made ram is not fixing the issue. Do u have a plug and play unit that will work for ALL campers ranging from small single axle units up to triple axle 5th wheels and goose necks. Thanks.

You can bypass the factory brake controller on a 2014 Dodge Ram. To install an aftermarket controller you will need to disconnect the integrated trailer brake module (ITBM). Doing so will turn on a warning lamp in the dash.
In order to disconnect the ITBM and not get the warning lamp, your local Dodge dealer will have to reconfigure the TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module), of the truck. Once the TIPM has been reconfigured, and the ITBM has been unplugged, you can use a vehicle specific brake control harness, # 3023-P.
To disconnect the ITBM, you will need to contact Business Center to remove the sales code (XHC). The TIPM will need to be reconfigured. Once the sales code has been disabled you can disconnect the ITBM electrical connector, under the dash, without getting the warning lamp.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes. This will work with basically any trailer brake style aside from air brakes.
