Weight Capacity and Steel Standards for Curt and Draw-Tite Hitches for 2007 Honda FIt

I am currently working on an attachment to help people lift a foldable wheelchair to the trunk of their 2007 Honda Fit.The device itself will be attached to the hitch of the car and currently the car does not have one. So, before the owner buys a hitch, I need to do some loading analysis, since it will encounter more torsional loads than a hitch will encounter on normal usage and, therefore, I need to make sure it wont fail. Currently during my research I stumbled upon two options in your website: one from Draw-Tite and one from CURT. I have two questions regarding them: - For the CURT hitch, the maximum gross trailer weight and maximum tongue weight is 2000lbs and 200lbs, respectively however in the installation details PDF provided it shows these values to be 1500lbs and 150lbs instead. I just want to clarify which values are the correct ones. -I also want to ask if is possible to know the steel standard used in making those two hitches i.e. ASTM A500, A36, etc.? I checked with Curt and for the Curt Class I Receiver Hitch # C11058 you mentioned in your question for the 2007 Honda Fit, the tongue weight is in fact 150 pounds and the towing weight capacity is 1,500 pounds.
The steel standard used for the Curt hitch is of A36 Low Carbon Steel. I was not able to obtain the steel standard for the Draw-Tite Hitch # 24776, however it does have a higher weight rating with a 200 pound tongue weight and 2,000 pound gross trailer weight.
I have also included the installation details for both of these hitches for your review.
