Could Curt Hitch Extender # C45048 Be Used to Tow 6,500 lb Trailer

Question:
I have a 2017 Ram 2500 and I want to pull my camper with the tailgate on the truck down. My camper fully loaded is around 6000 - 6500 pounds. I use a weight distribution hitch when I pull the camper. Will part # C45048 work so I can leave the tailgate down when I pull my camper safely?

If you use the Curt hitch extender part # C45048 in the 24 inch length with a weight distribution system the towing capacity is 8,000 lbs. If the 24 inch length would work for you this would be a great option.
