i need to know where the hitch item number is at so that i can order some hardware

The hitch item number is usually on a sticker that is attached to the trailer hitch. The Replacement Hardware Kit for Trailer Hitches, part # RHK, is the mounting hardware that is used to mount a trailer hitch to a vehicle. We have hardware for Curt, DaLan, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Reese, or Valley trailer hitch receivers.
If you are trying to find hardware for a trailer hitch on a car or truck I would just need the brand of hitch and the vehicle the hitch is for and I can help you with the hitch item number.
I am including a link to a picture of a replacement hardware kit for a Curt hitch on a Dodge Ram. The hardware kit will vary from vehicle to vehicle.
