Removing The Head On Curt Q20 5th Wheel Hitch For The First Time
Published 01/19/2017 >
Question:
I just received my Q20 hitch and cant get the head to come off. Ive taken out the pins and bearing brackets but it wont come apart. Is there something else that needs to be taken out to get the head off?

Since you have already removed the pins and the bearing brackets on your Curt Q20 # C16130 and the head won't come loose, there is a simple solution. It is often the case when the hitch is disassembled for the first time that the square shaft gets bound up on the rubber isolator. If you spray some penetrating oil on that square shaft and let it work through that rubber isolater, it will soon come loose for you.
