Compatibility of the HitchMate Tire Step on a 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek
Question:
Will this fit on a 2015 Subaru Crosstrek?
asked by: Jeff F
Helpful Expert Reply:
The HitchMate Tire Step, # HE4040, will fit a tire up to 12-1/2 inch wide tire. This measurement should not be an issue. The width of the step arm my be a issue for 2015 Subaru Crosstrek.
The clearance between your tire and wheel well will need to be checked to see if the HitchMate will fit. The tubes on the step measures 22 inches wide. The tubes will have to fit around your tire and clear the wheel of your car for the step to be used on your Subaru. You will need to measure the width between the front edge of the wheel well across the tire and wheel to the back edge of the wheel well.
You might also look at the Perfomance Tool Tire step # PT68ZR. It specifically says it fits any tire up to 13 inches wide.
I attached a picture to show you where to measure
