How to Determine if Thule Motion 3 Cargo Box Will Allow Rear Hatch to Open
Hello Richard, While I can tell you how to determine if you'll have clearance to open your rear hatch, I don't have any way of knowing outright if the rear hatch will open using the Thule Motion 3 Rooftop Cargo Box # TH67PN. It's pretty simple though as all you have to do is measure from the center of the front crossbar on your CR-V to the point where the roof meets the hatch. Roof Rack Recommendation for Carry Thule Motion XT Box on a 2023 Lexus GX 460
It does look like the OEM roof rack kit on your 2023 Lexus GX 460 is going to sit really close to your roof so I recommend replacing that with an aftermarket system to ensure you have enough clearance to your roof for the Thule Motion 3 Rooftop Cargo Box # TH67PN to fit. I recommend using the Yakima TimberLine FX Roof Rack # Y68UV because it retains more of an OEM look for crossbars and will work great for the Motion 3.

What is Difference Between Thule Motion XT and C Cargo Box
Hey Brad, so the Thule Motion 3 cargo box part # TH67PN is the upgraded version of the older XT. The changes are subtle but it is supposed to be more aerodynamic and also provide a little better rear hatch clearance.

Thank you for the information! It sounds like your 2020 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro has the raised rails and OEM crossbar setup that we'd find on the standard 2020 Toyota 4Runner. Comparing Thule Motion 3 to Thule XT
The Motion 3 # TH67PN and the XT are virtually identical. The only real difference is the appearance of the top shell on the Motion 3 which also makes it more aerodynamic. Both of these have the same carrying capacity. Personally I would choose whichever has the better price unless I was using it all the time, in which case I would get the Motion 3 for that extra aerodynamic design.

Recommended Cargo Carrier That Can Be Adapted to T-Slots
Thule does carry a conversion kit # TH27PQ which would let you replace the standard PowerClick mounts, but since the Thule Sidekick Roof Mounted Cargo Carrier Box # TH78GC uses U-bolts, this kit is not going to work unfortunately. If you're not married to the Sidekick, then you could use the Thule Motion 3 Rooftop Cargo Box # TH67PN instead, which is a bit bigger, but it can be adapted to slide into T-slots.
