Differences Between Inno Shadow 15 and Inno Wedge 660 Roof Cargo Boxes
Published 11/28/2017 >
Question:
Thanks for getting back to me! I have two follow-up questions: "Maximum Ski/Snowboard Length: Shadow 15's is 72" and Wedge 660's is 74-3/4" when loaded diagonally". Loaded "diagonally": How many 177cm (69.685in) sized ski pairs (with binding) should I be able to load vertically, for each box? In terms of finish, which (glossy vs carbon fiber) is more durable? If both are equivalent in durability, which looks better scratched up?

The Inno Shadow 15 NBRA1170CA and Inno Wedge 660 # INBRM660BK are functionally almost exactly the same, as you noted; with a weight capacity of 110 lbs, 11 cubic feet of cargo space, dual side-opening lids and Memory Mount hardware. However, there are some slight differences which may lead someone to purchase one over the other, which I'll outline for you.
- Crossbar Spread: Shadow 15 requires between 23-1/2" and 39" while the Wedge 660 requires between 24" and 39".
- Exterior dimensions: Shadow 15 is 3/4" taller than Wedge 660
- Maximum Ski/Snowboard Length: Shadow 15's is 72" and Wedge 660's is 74-3/4" when loaded diagonally
Somebody may choose the Wedge 660 if they have slightly longer skis or need something slightly shorter, whereas if their crossbars were 23-1/2" apart they would have to choose the Shadow 15. The other difference which is a big factor for some people is something you noted - the finish. There are those who prefer the gloss black look while others like the carbon fiber look. With the two rooftop boxes being so much alike, aesthetics are often the deciding factor.
I have attached links to a review of each product for you to take a look at as well.
