Weight Distribution System Recommendation for 350 lbs Tongue Weight

Updated 11/21/2016 | Published 11/20/2016

Question:

Hi I have a 07 classic Duramax. I just purchased a jayco feather 19h TT. Tongue weight is only 350lbs. Im having a hard time finding a sway control hitch. From my research Ive narrowed down to the e2 2 point system, a fastline round bar, husky center line, and the equalizer. All with 8-10k capacity. The equalizer is the 6k capacity model. Do you have a recommendation or is there some other that I may have missed? I thank you for any advice you can give me

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

Since your tongue weight is 350 lbs you would want the Strait Line system part # RP66082 which has a tongue weight range of 200-600 lbs and features only sway control designed to fight sway before it starts.

For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
