The Yakima SkyBox 18 Rooftop Cargo Box - 18 cu ft - Black Carbonite, # Y07336, will fit on your 2003 Toyota 4 Runner. The measurement of the box is 92" long x 36" wide x 16" tall. The carrier will fit all standard style crossbars and the crossbar spread must be between 24 inches and 42 inches apart. To make sure that your hatch will open fully, you will want to take a quick measurement. There must be at least 57 inches between the center of the front crossbar and line where roof and hatch meet. I've attached a picture to help.
This is a great cargo box with the integrated track system in the floor of the box providing tie-down points for securing your cargo. The universal clamp-on mounting hardware fits most crossbar styles and they adjust for different spreads. The SkyBox has SuperLatch security latches on both sides to ensure that the lid is completely closed. This security system seals the box against dirt and moisture. If it fits your vehicle properly, it is a great product that I highly recommend.
Yakima Skybox NX does come in a 16 cubic foot option, # Y95AV that is 75-1/2" long x 35" wide x 16" tall. For other options of measurements, I've attached a help article for your convenience.

What is the clearance required between the bottom of the crossbars and the roof to properly attach a Yakima Skybox? I have a Toyota Sequoia with factory roof rack and the clearance varies between 1.5 - 2 inches, will that be enough?
