While the installation of the Stealth Trailer Hitch, item # SH44VR on the 2009 BMW 3 Series Sport Wagon is quite involved, it does not require any fascia trimming. For installation, it requires temporary removal of bumper/fascia and permanent removal of the impact structure. The hitch then replaces the impact structure for support and safety. Once installed, the hitch is completely invisible when not in use. The # SH44VR is not meant for towing. If you want to tow a light trailer, you would instead want the # SH88VR which is upgraded to include the wiring and ballmount needed for towing.
