To safely and legally flat tow your F-150 behind your Class A motorhome you will require a few items. The linked article will cover each of these in detail for you but the basic items needed are a tow bar, safety cables, a wiring/lighting kit of one kind or another, base plates, a braking system and a high/low hitch adapter to keep the connected tow bar level. I also included articles that specifically address the types of braking systems we offer and the way to select the correct high/low adapter.
Let's start with base plates for the F-150. I suggest Blue Ox base plate kit # BO74FR. These feature removable draw bars; installation will require some drilling and minor mods to the truck fascia.
The mating tow bar I recommend is the Avail # BX7420. This tow bar can easily handle the truck's weight and it comes with safety cables, so you don't have to but those separately.
For a lighting/wiring kit you can use either a diode kit like # RM-154 that installs permanently or you can opt for the easy method, magnetic lights like # RM-2120, that are simple to install and remove and that do not require messing with the truck's internal wiring.
For a braking system the Blue Ox Patriot can't be beat: this supplementary braking system is portable, easy to install and features wireless operation for less hassle. Order part # BLU37TR (and if you choose the diode wiring kit, also relay kit # RM-88400). For magnetic lights the relay is not needed.
High/low hitch adapters are shown on the linked page. The article will help you choose the right one to keep the tow bar level.
