Question:
Hi, I recently replaced the Venture gear box and the landing gear motor on my fifth wheel. I had the clunk-clunk noise and no movement of the legs, so I got a new metal gear box, and since its a big toyhauler, upgraded the motor to the Stromberg Carlson LG-196308, higher rpm and heavier rating. All legs turned easily by hand, and I synchronized legs, regreases everything and the gears for the legs looked great. Hooked everything up correctly, however when I go to extend the legs, the fuse pops. Retracts fine. Help?!?!!??

It sounds like the new higher-capacity Stromberg Carlson motor # LG-196308 you're using is drawing more power than your old motor did. It is likely that your wire gauge and/or fuse value are inadequate for the extra current drawn by the higher-rated motor.
Stromberg-Carlson recommends no smaller than 10-gauge wiring for this motor, and then only for runs up to about 12-feet. If your wiring is smaller gauge than this then you'll want to use 10-gauge wire like # 10-1-1. If this does not correct the issue then you may also need a larger fuse than your old motor did.
