Question:

Hi, I dont like messing with the hatchback-mount bike racks, and would like to utilize a hitch rack. What works best on a 2014 Toyota Yaris LE 5-door hatchback? Thoughts? Thanks!

Good news! There are a few hitches that will fit your Toyota Yaris LE 5-Door Hatchback. I have linked them all to this page for you to see but I highly recommend the Draw-Tite # 24911, because of the no drill application and you won't have to use a support strap with this one like you will be required to if you use the Curt hitch.

When picking out a bike rack you will want to make sure that it is compatible with this Draw-Tite Class I 1-1/4 hitch. One of my favorite racks for this size is the Thule Helium Pro # TH9042PRO. The Thule Helium Pro # TH9042PRO has some great features also like the integrated hitch and cable locks, the new cradles that have 2 layers of cushioning and the Hold Fast anti sway cradles, and its light weight design. It is compatible with the Class I 1-1/4 inch hitch that I've recommended above. It will also be compatible with the 200lbs tongue weight of the hitch, you will want to check your owners manual to make sure your vehicle is rated for that much weight. Typically this is also listed on the placard in your drivers door.

It's important to note that with a Class I hitch you will be restricted to two bikes on the rack because of the low weight rating of the hitch. I have also linked a page of other Class I hitch mounted bike racks to this page for your convenience.

If you happen to have an alternative framed bike like many women's bikes do then you will need the use of an adapter bar like # TH982XT for the bikes to mount properly.
