Recommended Way to Install Heavy Steel D-Ring Tie Down to Aluminum Floor of Car Hauler

Question:
What is the best way to install heavy D-Rings to a car haulers aluminum floor? Should I sandwich a 4x4x3/4 piece of plywood between the floor and a steel backing plate? I dont think it would be a good idea to put the steel backing plate right against the Aluminum, do you? Thanks!

Using a piece of plywood between the aluminum will not hold up as well because the wood will start to weaken and will rot over time. The best way to install the trailer D-Ring Tie Down Mount, part # LRB1, to the aluminum floor in your car hauler would be to mount it through the frame of the trailer if possible or using a steel backing plate would suffice.
It would probably be good to use some sort of gasket material between the aluminum and the steel to prevent any oxidation or reaction between the steel and aluminum.
