Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this CURT aluminum ball mount for your two-inch hitch. Now, this ball mount is gonna be really a solid option for you to consider if you want something that's strong, but easy to deal with. This is made from forged aluminum, so it's gonna be a lot lighter than your traditional steel mounts, which is gonna make it easier to handle when you're installing it or swapping it out, but you're still gonna get plenty of strength. In terms of capacity, this is rated for up to 8,000 pounds of gross trailer weight and 800 pounds of tongue weight, which is gonna be plenty for most common towing needs.
Plus, it's been tested to meet recognized safety standards, so you know it's built with reliability in mind. This is also designed to be flexible. When you have it in this orientation, you're gonna get about a six-inch drop. When you flip it over, you're gonna get about a five-inch rise. So that's gonna help you keep your trailer level depending on your setup.
That adjustability is gonna make it useful across different vehicles or trailers. One thing that a lot of people like about this is it does hold up well over time. That aluminum construction's gonna do a great job of resisting rust and corrosion. So whether you're dealing with rain, dirt, or sun exposure, whether you're constantly towing a boat trailer, this is built to last without getting all worn out. So, again, this is going to slide right into your standard two-inch trailer hitch receiver, so there's no hassle there.
You will need a pin and clip to secure this or a hitch lock to secure this. So if you don't already have one that's compatible with this, we have several options here at etrailer. In regards to the ball, this is going to work with a typical trailer ball with a one-inch ball hole. So on your screen, I am popping up my recommendation for a two-inch ball that is going to slide into that one-inch ball hole. You can take that part number that you see there on your screen, pop it in the search field of our website.
That will take you to that ball, and you can add that to your order if you so desire. That's a chrome-plated ball by the way. Giving you some measurements here. Measuring from the center of our hitch pin hole to the end of the shank, I came up with about 9 1/4 inches, and then from the center of the hitch pin hole to the end of the shank, right at about 2 1/2 inches or so. I think that's gonna wrap up our quick look today. By the way, we do have other versions of this available, different drops or rises. So if you don't need something with this extreme of a drop, you're looking for something a little bit different, do take a look at the other options that we have here from CURT with their aluminum ball mounts. Well, again, my name's Andy. Thank you for joining me.

An anti-rattle device should do the trick. If the one you purchased does not work out for you, we have several here at etrailer including Item # e99007.
