Question:
Can I use the Brophy D Ring on a wood floored aluminum trailer to tie down a 4wheeler? Do you have a plate/ do I need a plate-for bottom side of mtg base to prevent it from crushing the 2x floor. Space is tight, cannot use the recessed style. You do show it mounted directly to a 2x6 floor. Any other top mounted rings available. Space is tight to access frame to bolt and nut properly. Thanx.

Expert Reply:
Since space is tight on your trailer, I recommend using the surface-mount Brophy D-Ring Tie Down Anchors, # SR15-C for a ring with a safe working load limit (WLL) of 1,600 lbs or # LRB1 for a ring with a safe WLL of 4,000 lbs. These will save you plenty of space and can bolt right through the wood floor of your trailer, as you can see in the photos I've added.
I've also attached some review videos of these D-Rings for you to take a look at.
