To install the Curt Trailer Hitch, # 12287, on your 2007 Volvo S-80, you will need to temporarily lower the exhaust in order to attach the hitch to the vehicle frame. After the hitch is in place the exhaust will be put back in its original position. A heat shield will also have to be temporarily bent, also to allow the hitch to raise into position. It will be bent back when complete. Some fascia trim will be removed but it, too, will also be replaced after installation. I have included a link to the installation details below. All non-trailer loads (bike racks, cargo carriers, etc) must be supported by stabilizing straps per Curt warranty requirements.
If you plan on towing with this hitch, it comes with the recommended ball mount. You would then need a hitch ball, like # 19257 (1-7/8 inch diameter) or # TR63822 (2 inch diameter). You would also need wiring. The trailer wiring harness for your Volvo is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Trailer Connector, # 118454.
