If you are changing from a 15 inch to a 16 inch tire and wheel you will add more height to the trailer. With the size tire you currently have on your trailer the diameter is approximately 28.87 inches tall. To go with a tire like part # AM35010 which is a 235/85R16 tire, the diameter is 31.728 inches or almost 3 inches more than the tires you currently have. You will want to make sure you have fender clearance on your trailer. You want at least 3 inches of clearance between the tire and the trailer fender.
Also, you said you want to get more load carrying capacity by changing the tires. You will want to check the trailer and axle to make sure you stay within the rated capacity. Using higher rated tires will not increase your load-carrying capacity. You are limited to the lowest rated component.
You will also want to keep the tires inflated at their maximum psi rating. An under-inflated tire can cause the sidewalls to overheat and fail and a tire that is over-inflated will wear the center tread.
