Question:

Can platform bike racks be used with a 2 receiver front hitch? Will the wind resistance while driving at interstate speeds damage the bikes or rack?

Platform bike racks like the Swagman XC2 Wheel Mount Bike Rack, item # S64650, can be used in front mount hitches without damage from wind. You will have to keep in mind that any bike rack is not designed for use off road.

You will also need to make sure that the air blocked by the rack and bikes does not effect the vehicles cooling system. Normally this is not a concern with bikes as much as with dirt bikes and scooters carried on heavier style carriers.

If your 2005 Dodge Ram is a 1500 series truck then the Draw-Tite Front Hitch, item # 65033, is a good choice. If you have a 2500 or 3500 series truck then the Draw-Tite Front Hitch, item # 65046, would be the one to go with.
